Elle Red’s review below puts it best. Our first mistake was ignoring the reviews. The property was not ready for us to move in when the agreement started. (Building material, old tenants’ junk, and staff still working at the premises.) (This was while the property was standing open for one month, and we were promised several things would be complete upon move-in.) (We covered the costs for cancellation of movers, accommodation for the night, storage fees, etc., not to mention waste of fuel, time, etc.) Various items, which we were promised would be completed upon move-in, were not completed. The owner, Matilda of Excellence Marketing, gives her son, Chris of CVS Renovations (Pty) Ltd., all maintenance jobs, irrespective of his work ethic. He took it upon himself to take a call that was meant for his mother (Matilda), a certified credited estate agent. (He is an outside contractor and not a registered estate agent.) He blatantly lied to us, saying work was done, which we could clearly see was not completed. Work which either previous tenant or landlord would be held financially liable for. This set the tone for the relationship going forward. Matilda and her son Chris are the most unprofessional people I have ever worked with. Their level of communication, work ethic, inability to plan, etc. leaves little to be desired. They always demand access to the property on point 99 (i.e., same day), and the latest tactic is that if you are unable to accommodate their short notices, they threaten to load charges to your account. Anything that requires fixing takes a few attempts and is usually “hit and miss”. No property will feel like home if you rent through them because they make you feel unwelcome. We have come to learn the hard way. No property is worth renting if it is through this agent.
