The staff doesn’t pay attention to detail. The food was not good at all , salad was creep lettuce not fresh at all. Waited for sauces until l finished food. When l wanted to pay bill they forced a tip on me , relaised after lmpaud the bill that they was service fee of R27 forced on me after a whole day of bad service. It’s a nice place but they must invest in customer care to their staff members , they are rude . Especially the lady on duty today at the bar with long braids that girl is verrrrrrrrrry rude. I mean rudeeeeeee

Beautiful place with friendly manager and staff. They offer great traditional African food including nyama choma ya mbuzi (grilled goat meat)

Furniture seems old and room was not properly cleaned. In general the staff does not seem friendly or eager to help. Location is great with relatively easy access to both the N1 & N4. It is also close to Wilgers Hospital and The Grove Mall.

Unfortunately I cannot rave about our time at Villa Africa. We stayed for two nights total though with a few days in between, so we got different rooms each time. The first rooms were in dire need of upgrading- the old blinds on the windows were so broken that they didnt provide much privacy, particularly on the ground floor… and our bed was uncomfortable as it was two single beds of different heights pushed together (I REALLY hate when hotels do this and then call it a double room…..). Plus the “double” rooms all only had one towel, so we had to ask at reception each night for another. It was just odd. Our second night there we had larger rooms but they were so weird- one had a toilet just in the room? No walls around it? And even though we had asked to not have two single beds shoved together again, that is exactly what we got. Then we asked for a hair dryer (they are not standard amenities in the rooms here) and were told it could only be brought to us the next morning- which never happened. Loud, and disturbing music plays from the bar area and night, and a massive group of school children were all also staying at the same time as us and making a huge amount of noise, even into the night- not really the hotels fault but we couldnt understand why we were given rooms right by such a large and disruptive group… It is a budget choice in the area if you’re in dire need of accommodation, but odd as it feels like it’s trying to be fancier and more high class than it is. Doesnt help to be trying to charm guests in the reception and common areas when your rooms are so very tired and uncomfortable….
