The Rasmus has become a home away from home. The hotel is beautiful, warm and inviting. The highlight however is the professional and caring staff – always warm and welcoming, and attentive to guests’ needs. I am looking forward to many more stays.

The hotel aesthetic is very beautiful. Apart from that it was very very disappointing. This place is marketed as a five star hotel but that could not be further from the truth. A week and a half before I arrived I asked the hotel to please confirm with me if there would be sufficient selection of meals for my wife who is vegetarian (no-egg) which they confirmed wouldn’t be a problem. Her options? For dinner, a few ravioli parcels with pesto. For breakfast? A teaspoon and a half of mushroom half an avo one piece of toast and a small bowl of cheese. I booked the superior suite but again left disappointed, the worst issue was the shower and bathroom flooded after my wife and I showered…we had to use all the towels and there was no one at reception in the evening to even provide us with extra towels at reception. Come the morning they came to assist and clean, to find that there was a massive lump of hair trapped in the drain which clearly shows they don’t do a thorough cleaning of the rooms after you check out. The window sills had dead ants that were not cleaned either. Summary: the old farmhouse look is good for a day visit but do not waste your money staying over.

Requested a late check-in and staff were still up, expecting me. (They live on-site and the intercom at the gate has a separate button for After Hours.) Entrance was difficult to see at night because of the roadworks. (The Rasmus logo is on the gate, albeit a bit small to read from the road.) Once you are checked in, you receive a keycard so you can open the gate by yourself. During loadshedding, the generator takes over, so you will only be without power for a few seconds. Wi-Fi is good. The Executive suite has a large bathroom with bath, shower and two basins. Also a balcony looking out over the pretty rose garden and koi pond. The koi are huge. English Breakfast with drinks like cappuccino can be included, depending on your selection. No swimming pool, but there is a nice pond with willow trees at the back. Could be nice for picnics, but I’m not sure if it is meant for guests. Will have to ask.
