I recently went to visit someone at 132 Brooklyn Guesthouse.
I was absolutely abashed, shocked and petrified.
The entrance looks very nice and enticing, but the condition of the room!??!
In my life (41 years) I have NEVER been to a Guesthouse or Hotel in such a poor state. My outbulding where my gardener stays is in better and cleaner condition.
The room only has a VERY small “fridge”/freezer, of which the temperature control doesn’t work, so everything gets frozen.
The whole place looks and feels dilapidated and dirty.
It doesn’t look like there’s been a bucket with soap and cloth through the room in years. The walls, plug sockets and “fridge” are dirty. Makes me feel like I need to wash my hands after I touched it.
When you arive at your room you are firstly greeted by darkness, because the outside light doesnwork, then an entance door that are peeling off due to lack of any maintenance, and then a floor that is splitting due to water damage.
To add to the horrible dirty feeling of the room, the pillow on the bed is torn on more than one place, the one piece of wooden furniture looks like someone kept a hungry dog in the room that chew on it.
The shower doesn’t even have a cover over the water hole!
Outside the room the weeds are growing knee high.
No, without being rude, I would rather sleep in my gardener’s room, and his bed, than to book a room at Brooklyn Hotel.
Btw, when I walked to the pedestrian gate to exit, the lady at reception locked me in the eye, then looked away and ignored the obvious fact that I wanted to leave. I had to walk in, up to the reception desk, and ask her to please open the gate for me.
