Stayed 2 nights with my mum as a treat for her 80th Bday. What a disappointment! 1st night no hot water. We were the only guest and there was no staff around. 2nd night and 3rd morning no water at all. More guests, some service. The breakfast was nice. Restaurant recommended owned by the owner. I asked for a 10-15% refund for inconvenience – not quite the bday get away I had in mind. It was declined as ‘whole area was out of water’. If you market yourself as a 5star hotel I would expect some back up – or at least bottles drinking water in the room, which was provided on arrival but after that I had to ask every time. Also, upon booking I specifically asked about stair as my mum is elderly. I was told we can have a room ‘downstairs’ – but it was not mentioned the to get to the sleeping area you have to go up LOTS of stairs already! I felt misled by the booking staff, whom I took the trouble to phone before booking to check if it was appropriate to take my mum.
