Why March is the Perfect Month to Celebrate Women in Pretoria

Lerato Maimela / March 2, 2026

Written by Renate Engelbrecht

March boasts a softer, slower season perfect for purposeful living and the ideal backdrop to spotlight women who build intentional businesses, families and creative ventures. Here are a few reasons why we believe March is the perfect month to celebrate women in Pretoria.

A Continuously Fresh Energy

Hopefully, by now, your New Year’s resolutions have moved from resolutions to reality. March is ideally the month in which women-led start-ups, passion projects and side hustles start to gain traction, making it an exciting and inspiring time of the year to highlight and support female founders across hospitality, wellness and retail.

Autumn Café Culture

What better time to connect with friends over a cup of coffee than early autumn as the leaves change colour and the city adopts a whole new glow? From neighbourhood coffee spots to the best bistros in town, there’s lots to indulge in and even more to celebrate. Gather the girls and host a women-focused breakfast, networking morning or storytelling sessions.

Al Fresco Living is Reason Enough to Celebrate

This time of the year boasts some of the best weather in Pretoria. It’s perfect for garden brunches, wine tastings, open-air markets and fresh flower picking. These all make women-centred gatherings feel effortless and elegant.

A Lifestyle Revolution Driven by Women

Women are at the core of creativity and continuous success in Pretoria. From fashion labels and curated markets to fitness studios and wine bars, many of the city’s most exciting lifestyle shifts are being shaped by female entrepreneurs. With International Women’s Month coming up, March is no doubt the ideal time to recognise this momentum.

Find new momentum at FitFirst Training for strong moms, run by female entrepreneur and inspiring mom, Lindsay Harris. Or, visit The Winery Co. for some exquisite wines curated by Inge Hoffman. You can also support local designers, ERRE – a women-led fashion house in Pretoria – this March.

Bridging the Gap Between Summer Energy and Autumn Sophistication

This time of the year, the excitement of the new year seems to start toning down and we tend to fall into a rhythm. That rhythm is often brought about by the calm confidence of women in our midst. Let’s celebrate that!

An Active Social Calendar This March

Pretoria boasts a variety of female-driven events this March:

On 4 March, ladies will gather at The View Rooftop Bar for The Local Jol. It’s a safe and exclusive ladies-only dance experience with non-stop music, laughter and unapologetic dancing. Tickets will get you past the bouncer and into the private party where you can really let your hair down safely. Think throwback songs from the 80s, 90s and 2000s. Book here.

Hosted by Hillsong Church Africa, the Sisterhood Conference 2026 takes place on 14 March. It’s a space where women across generations will lift each other up, encourage one another and keep rising together. Book here.

All in all, March is a month that calls for the celebration of women. Instead of waiting for August, when it’s National Women’s Day, why not pull in and celebrate International Women’s Day this March in a quieter, more intentional way? We’re all for making this celebration part of everyday life in Pretoria.
