If there is one thing you can be assured of, it is that Lynnwood has a wide variety of restaurants. Whether you are in the mood for French cuisine, Italian flair or Asian delicacies, Lynnwood will make you feel like you are on a global food crawl.
There is no shortage of excellent restaurants in Pretoria and, instead of having to be content with the usual hamburger-and-chips diners, we are in the fortunate position of having a choice between not only local cuisine but a selection of different foods from around the world.
Below are some restaurants in Lynwood that bring the world to your doorstep.
La Madeleine
The French are famous for pushing the boundaries of cuisine. La Madeleine in Lynnwood is no different. This restaurant is so unique that they do not even have a set menu. Instead, Chef Leusch visits each table to describe the menu of the day.
Having won numerous awards over many years, you are in good hands. With meals like “duck with exotic flavours” or “springbok in red wine sauce”, this is definitely not your average Pretoria restaurant.
Some people may remember them from having an establishment in Sunnyside many years ago, but they have since moved to Lynnwood Ridge. If you still remember the days when they were in Sunnyside, you will remember how Chef Leusch loves to think out of the box and experiment with food while pushing the boundaries.
You can visit them at 122 Priory Road, Lynnwood Ridge, or phone them on 012 361 3667 to make a booking and experience the best French cuisine Pretoria has to offer.
Feng Yi Restaurant
For the best sushi and Chinese food in Lynnwood, be sure to visit Feng Yi restaurant on Daventry Street, Lynnwood Manor. With choices like a selection of crab, salmon, and chicken salads, sashimi, teriyaki rolls, maki, and a variety of different soups, you will not be left wanting.
They do not have a dedicated website, but they are on Facebook, and you can contact them on 012 348 1918. They are open daily from 10:30 - 21:00.
Taj Mahal Gift Acres Lynnwood
With an excellent average rating of 4.9 out of 5 on Google, you cannot go wrong by visiting Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant in Gift Acres Shopping Centre, Lynnwood Road.
They are open daily from 10:30 - 20:30. If you love Indian food, you absolutely must make this restaurant one of your stops on your global food crawl through Lynnwood.
Personally, I do not like hot spicy food, and when I hear about an Indian restaurant, that is the first thing I think about. Luckily, Taj Mahal caters to people like me and gives you an option between “mild”, “medium”, and “hot”, so there is no reason not to pay them a visit.
They do not have a dedicated website, but you can find more information on Facebook and Instagram. You can also contact them on 066 469 1338.
Cowfish
From handmade burgers, dim sum, sushi, to Thai and udon noodles, there is something for everyone at Cowfish. Their credo is that one eats with the eyes first, and looking at their delicious menu, it is obvious that they spend a lot of time making their food not only taste delicious, but look the part as well.
You can find them at shop 13, Lynnwood Bridge, Daventry Street. If you want to experience a fantastic variety of food from all over the world while sitting in a lovely venue in the famous Lynnwood Bridge with its trendy ambiance, I can definitely recommend Cowfish.

Lupa Osteria
Are you in the mood for authentic Italian food? Why not pay a visit to Lupa Osteria? Their recipes are made from scratch, and they pride themselves on staying true to their roots and, in their words, “keeping traditional Roman cuisine alive”. From seasonal pizzas, delicious Napoli pasta, and chicken marsala, to a variety of festive set menus, you will not find any better Italian restaurant in Lynnwood while on your global food crawl.
You can find them in Lynnwood Bridge Retail Centre on Daventry Street in Lynnwood Glen. They are open from Mondays to Saturdays, 11:30 - 22:00, and on Sundays from 11:30 - 21:00.
Next time you don`t know what to make for your Sunday lunch and are not in the mood for preparing food, may I suggest you take the family to Lupa Osteria for an unforgettable Italian food experience. Bookings can even be made on their website: https://www.lupa.co.za/.
