The place is awesome. Music and atmosphere. The only problem was service. When we arrived we ordered drinks at the bar. Went and got a table, and we asked a waiter if we could order food. (It was past 10) He told us he would check what he could do, and we ordered. He never came back. Maybe just an update would have been great.

When you order for delivery of eisbein their advertisement say 1kg for R150 with side. I have a complaint that their 1kg is more like 500 gm. As it was the smallest that i have received as 1 kg as any other restaurant i have ordered at. If they want a photo i can send it. I also noted that there was hardly meat on more bone. If i were a dog i would not have minded but we are four that was to eat from it…. Not even enough meat for 2 on it. I am a person who eats small portions of food. But that was not even enough. Other places serve more. We had other food with it.

A Sunday with a boeremark and boeremusiek with an Eishbein special sounded like an ideal outing. We were not impressed at all. Only about six stalls (and shame they really tried), the music was good but way too loud. We waited for an hour for drinks, which we eventually canceled before we left. The table next to us complained about a meal that did not arrived even after all the others already finished their meals. I overheard a waiter telling another table that there is no ice-cream for the kids with their waffle order. When we canceled our order, there was a queue of other unhappy customers who wanted to see the manager. They definitely have to work on customer service.

We were given the Vellie’s roof for our wedding reception. The food was delicious, service was great and the atmosphere was wonderful. We were given our own speakers to play music we wanted, which was really nice. Everyone had a fantastic time and we can only thank the waiters and management at Vellie’s for making our day a day to remember. ????
