During Mental Health Awareness Month, Sandton City has launched the next phase of its Words That Heal campaign, in partnership with the Riky Rick Foundation. This campaign aims to promote emotional well-being. An inspiring song of hope and an immersive in-centre experience that honours the value of artistic expression in promoting teenage mental wellness have emerged from what started as a national call to offer words of encouragement.

The Song Of Healing
Sandton City shoppers were asked to submit sincere voice notes of encouragement earlier this year. Expressing what they would like to say to those who are struggling. Words That Heal is a compelling original song that features Riky Rick's voice and incorporates a selection of these words from hundreds of submissions. The hip-hop song reminds listeners that no one is on this journey alone and honours resiliency.
The song, now available on YouTube, social media, and streaming services, embodies the campaign's central theme: that words have the capacity to inspire, connect, and soothe. Every individual can contribute to transforming awareness into action and fostering a public dialogue on mental health that goes beyond October.

Experience the Movement at Sandton City
Shoppers can enter the Words That Heal immersive pop-up activity, located on the upper floor adjacent to BOSS in Sandton City, from now until Sunday, 9 November 2025. The area, which was created in partnership with the well-known artist Samurai Farai, features limited-edition T-shirts, sweatshirts, and scarves that are influenced by "artivism," the intersection of action and creativity that Riky Rick promoted.
Every penny raised from the sale of this merchandise will be sent directly to the Riky Rick Foundation, which promotes young people's mental health and establishes venues for artistic expression as a therapeutic tool. In order to support mental health projects nationwide, visitors can also make an online pledge at www.rikyrickfoundation.co.za.

Every day, South Africa loses an estimated 23 people to suicide, with hundreds more attempting to take their life. Sandton City hopes to continue offering hope, increasing awareness, and promoting important dialogues about mental health through this program.
Customers are urged to continue speaking out in support of anyone dealing with mental health issues. The 063 980 5816 WhatsApp number is still operational. Recall that a single act of kindness can save a life.
