Carols on the Piazza With The Mzansi Youth Choir
As part of its annual Destination Christmas celebration, Melrose Arch will host its well-known Carols on the Piazza on Saturday, 23 November 2024 at 6:30 PM. With the Mzansi Youth Choir, who recently won worldwide praise on America's Got Talent and are renowned for their sold-out performances worldwide, this year's event is sure to be an unforgettable one. Additionally, the money raised will contribute to giving the most priceless gift of all – a little sparkle – to people who struggle with their vision. Carols on the Piazza, held in the centre of Melrose Arch's lively Piazza, will give guests the opportunity to join the adored choir in singing along to beloved Christmas favourites. The choir's powerful voices will enthrall audiences. Attendees can anticipate a genuinely captivating evening as the choir's harmonies blend with the sparkling night sky, all surrounded by the breathtaking glow of Melrose Arch's famous festive lights, the largest and brightest display in Johannesburg.
The Season & Gift Of Giving
Everyone who attends this magnificent evening will be contributing to the gift of sight, in keeping with the spirit of the season. The goal of Melrose Arch's Carols on the Piazza this year is to give back to the community by collecting money for the blind and visually impaired. Two beneficiaries will split the proceeds. Firstly, the South African Guide Dogs Association is responsible for breeding, training, and placing service and guide dogs. This enables people with physical, developmental, and visual impairments to live more autonomous lives. And secondly, Cornelle Leach, a guide dog owner who needs a second surgery to restore her vision due to Stangardt's Dystrophy, will also gain from the procedure. Leach, who works for a company in the precinct, has inspired South Africans with her bravery and tenacity in pursuing electrostimulation therapy that integrates the latest biotechnology advancements in an effort to restore her sight.
