Johannesburg is set to welcome thousands of wine enthusiasts this October as Standard Bank Private WineX 2026 returns to the Sandton Convention Centre from 28 to 30 October. Now in its 25th year at the venue, the annual celebration brings together wine, culture, music, art and entertainment for three evenings dedicated to discovery and connection.
Sponsored by Standard Bank Private, WineX has become a much-anticipated annual celebration, bringing around 9,000 wine enthusiasts together under one roof. More than a wine tasting, the event brings the Cape Winelands to the heart of Gauteng, creating opportunities for discovery, connection and shared moments that make life feel truly wealthier.

Discover 700 Wines And Brandies Under One Roof
One of the biggest draws of WineX is the sheer variety available to explore. More than 700 wines and brandies from over 120 exhibitors will be showcased throughout the event, ranging from established award-winning cellars to smaller boutique producers whose wines may become future favourites.
Visitors can expect an opportunity to broaden their tastes and discover something outside their usual choices, with rare gems, limited releases and exclusive tastings also forming part of the experience. With so many producers represented, there will be plenty for both experienced wine enthusiasts and those who are just beginning to explore the world of wine.
WineX also provides an opportunity to engage directly with winemakers and learn more about the wines being poured. Guests can ask questions, discover new varieties and build their knowledge in an informal environment, making the event accessible whether you already know your way around wine or are simply interested in finding out more. It is also about sharing the experience with fellow wine lovers, making connections and enjoying the kind of richer moments that make WineX about more than what is in the glass.
An Evening Of Wine, Music, Art And Entertainment
Wine remains at the centre of the experience, but WineX has developed into a broader celebration that brings together several elements. Alongside the wine and brandy tastings, guests can enjoy music, art and entertainment while spending time with friends and fellow wine enthusiasts.
The combination creates an atmosphere where visitors can take their time exploring the extensive selection rather than simply moving from one tasting to the next. From established producers to emerging names, the event offers plenty of opportunities to discover something new while enjoying an evening in Sandton.
A Celebration Of South African Wine
With producers from the Cape Winelands represented alongside a diverse selection of exhibitors, WineX provides a snapshot of the country's wine industry in one Johannesburg venue. For visitors, this means being able to compare different producers, styles and varieties during a single event. It also offers an opportunity to interact with passionate people from the industry and gain a better understanding of what goes into the wines being tasted.
The event has become a meeting point for wine enthusiasts, collectors, industry professionals and curious newcomers, with its broad selection helping to create an experience that caters to different levels of wine knowledge.
