Usually, when we try to think of something to do in the evenings after work with friends or family, we tend to think of going out to a restaurant or a bar. But what if I told you that there are other unusual, unique nighttime experiences in Pretoria that you can enjoy after dark?
We do not have to be bound by the typical mundane bar-hopping or visits to the “I know this menu by heart already” restaurants. In this article, we discuss several other options available in Pretoria to bring new life to your nighttime experiences.
Just Breakout
Looking for something challenging that will stimulate the mind while having fun with your friends? Just Breakout, located in Menlo Park, is open until 20:00 every day except for Mondays and Tuesdays.
For an hour, a group of 2 - 6 people has to search for clues and solve puzzles to escape from The War Room or solve the mystery of The Crazy Professor.
Perfect for teambuilding events. Find out more on their Facebook and Instagram pages. You can also phone them on 061 113 9547.
Colbyn Golf Park & Restaurant
For those of us who love to get rid of stress after a hard day`s work by hitting a golf ball, Colbyn Golf Park & Restaurant may be exactly what you need.
They are open from Mondays to Saturdays until 22:00 and close at 20:00 on Sundays, so there is no need to rush when you want to hit a couple of balls after work.
You can even have your car washed and eat something at their restaurant while you relax. Check out their Facebook and Instagram profiles for more information. You can also phone them on 010 023 1148.
Grove Ice Rink
Oh, how we loved to go ice skating after school when we still had an ice rink at Sterland and the Kolonnade. Unfortunately, those ice rinks have closed, but luckily the Grove Ice Rink is keeping those memories alive.
They are open from 19:30 - 22:00 on Tuesdays to Sundays, so you have enough time to eat something after work and still enjoy the rest of the night ice skating. They also have an online booking system and more information on their Facebook and Instagram pages. Or phone them on 012 807 3060.
Dyno Karting
Growing up in a family full of car fanatics, we had some great times racing each other in go-karts. This is perfect for the kids who are still too young to get a driver`s licence, but crave the feeling and exhilaration of driving and racing a motorised vehicle in a safe environment.
Dyno Karting can be found on the 6th floor parking lot of Menlyn Park Shopping Centre. They are open daily until 22:00, but close at 18:00 on Sundays. Please contact them on 060 346 3947 to make a booking and avoid disappointment. They can get quite busy. Also, take a look at their Facebook and Instagram profiles.
The Fun Company Woodlands Boulevard
As mentioned earlier, some people relax by hitting a golf ball with a club. However, some people prefer much bigger balls and throwing them towards bowling pins as a form of relaxation.
The Fun Company is the ultimate place in Pretoria for unique nighttime experiences. They can be found at Irene Village Mall, Woodlands Boulevard, and Menlyn Park Shopping Centre, to name just a few venues. They are open Mondays to Thursdays until 22:00, until 23:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, and until 22:00 on Sundays.
While you are busy bowling, the kids can enjoy activities like racing, shooting, collecting, jumping hoops, and much more at the arcade.
Find them on their Facebook and Instagram profiles, or phone them on 087 164 9459.
Mystery Ghost Productions
If you want a really unique nighttime experience worth staying out for, this is it. If, like me, you are curious about life after death and the paranormal, then you absolutely have to consider going on a ghost tour with Mystery Ghost Productions.
You can phone Michael on 074 127 0982 for more information, but I would strongly suggest that you visit their website for all the information you require, like WhatsApp groups you can join, tour destinations, etc. You can also see more on their Facebook and Instagram profiles.
In conclusion, you really do not have to settle for the same old restaurant or bar visit at the end of your workday. Pretoria has a lot of fun and unique nighttime experiences worth staying out for.
