Fijnwyn Innie Lente Is Bringing A Taste Of Cape Town To Pretoria

Katrien Pienaar / September 8, 2026

Spring is in the air, and Fijnwyn Innie Lente is bringing a little taste of Cape Town to Pretoria on 26 and 27 September 2026. Set against the relaxed farm setting of Shokran Events Venue, this wine festival brings together more than 35 wine farms, live music, food stalls and plenty of spring atmosphere.

Whether you're a wine enthusiast looking to discover something new or simply after a fun day out with friends, Fijnwyn Innie Lente is all about good wine, great food and enjoying the start of the new season.

Discover Wines From 35+ Wine Farms

More than 35 wine farms will be represented at the festival, including Spier, Vrede & Lust and Bon Courage.

Guests can sample a range of wine varietals, from crisp whites and floral rosés to elegant reds, lighter blends and everything in between. It's a chance to discover new favourites, chat to winemakers and experience a taste of some of South Africa's wine regions without leaving Pretoria.

The wine tasting ticket includes a wine-tasting glass, making it easy to move between the different farms and explore what each has to offer.

A Little Taste Of Cape Town In Pretoria

Fijnwyn was established as a Pretoria wine festival with the idea of bringing a taste of the Cape to Gauteng. Fijnwyn Innie Lente continues that theme with a celebration of fresh flavours, blooming colours and outdoor wine experiences inspired by the arrival of spring.

The event combines wine with food and live music, creating a setting where you can spend the day tasting, eating and enjoying the atmosphere. There will also be food stalls serving up options to enjoy alongside your wine.

Enjoy The Spring Setting At Shokran

Fijnwyn Innie Lente takes place at Shokran Events Venue in Pretoria East. The venue is situated in a tranquil farm setting surrounded by pecan nut and almond plantations, around 12 kilometres from Woodlands Boulevard off Garsfontein Road Extension East.

Shokran has a relaxed, rustic feel with Moroccan-inspired décor, lush lawns, indigenous trees and outdoor spaces. The setting makes it a fitting backdrop for a spring wine festival, giving visitors the chance to enjoy the event outdoors while taking in the surrounding scenery.

There is also safe parking available at the venue, so you can settle in for the day without having to worry about where to leave your car.

Wine, Food And Live Music

Of course, Fijnwyn Innie Lente isn't only about the wine. The festival promises live music and food stalls, giving you plenty to enjoy between tastings.

Bring your friends, find a spot to settle in and make a day of it as you work your way through the wine farms. With the combination of wine, food, music and the spring setting, there is plenty happening throughout the day.

A Sunday To Slow Down

If you enjoy wine festivals but aren't a fan of large crowds, Sunday could be the better option. The organisers say that Sunday is generally quieter than Saturday, giving you more space to wander between the wine farms, taste different wines, grab something to eat and enjoy the atmosphere.

Both Saturday and Sunday run from 10:00 to 17:00, so there's plenty of time to explore the festival at your own pace.
