With its most enjoyable activation to date, Eastgate Shopping Centre is getting ready to welcome the holiday season. Presenting Candy Cane Lane, a fun and creative Christmas destination that will provide Johannesburg with all the sweetness it requires and more this coming holiday season. The Candy Cane Lane will provide families with a place to enjoy engaging entertainment, delectable food, and imaginative activities during this beautiful time of year, every day from 10AM to 6PM, from 10 to 24 December 2025 in the Strelitzia Court.
A Decadent Holiday Season Escape
Shoppers can explore Rudolph's Gaming Station, where they will have the opportunity to try their luck at the North Pole claw machine, sample reindeer-themed ice cream, and take part in festive face painting.
Every activity is entertaining and light-hearted, fostering a comfortable, happy, and cheerful environment for people of all ages.
Tickets are available at the activation area and cost R50 per person.
Visitors will have the opportunity to create something extra special to take home with two optional add-on experiences. For R50, visitors can use a DIY kit with toppings and sweets to decorate a doughnut at the Krispy Kreme and Lotus Biscoff-sponsored Christmas Cottage.
Also, shoppers may fill and design a personalised sweet-filled bauble at the nearby Sweet Wall bauble making station, which costs R50 and makes a beautiful gift or memento.
Meaningful Moments, Carols & Traditions
In addition to Candy Cane Lane, Eastgate will host a wide range of holiday events across the centre to fully celebrate the season. From 5 to 24 December, you can take pictures with Santa in the Strelitzia Court, which is next to Candy Cane Lane. Families can capture a moment together in a warm and considerate way with photography packages that start at R200.
From 8 to 24 December, the gift-wrapping kiosk in front of Krispy Kreme will once again assist customers in taking their presents home attractively wrapped so that no one may see them before the big day. Customers have an easy method to embrace the spirit of giving over the holiday season because prices vary based on the size of the item and all earnings are donated to Merchants of Light.
On certain evenings, the outdoor piazza area will host live Christmas carols. Visitors will witness a stunning performance with a blend of popular songs, live musicians, dancers, ballerinas, and a gorgeous skating act. Additionally, diners can enjoy these acts while dining at establishments like Piatto, News Cafe, Zor, Comida, Gelato Mania, or Pizza Hut. The carols will be performed at 6PM on December 8, 10, 12, 15, 17, 19, 22, 23, and 24.
Extended Shopping Hours
Eastgate will extend its shopping hours from 12 to 23 December in order to offer customers more time to select the ideal presents. Visitors will have more time to shop at over 200 well-known brands, eat, or enjoy the centre's many entertainment options, such as the new Magic Company, IndyKart Go Karting, Road House Roller Rink, Ster Kinekor, or Air360.
