Looking for home inspiration, renovation ideas, or the latest interior design trends? Decorex Joburg returns to the Sandton Convention Centre from 30 July to 2 August 2026, making for the perfect day trip from Pretoria. Africa's leading décor and design exhibition transforms the venue into five floors of inspiration, showcasing everything from property and renovations to luxury interiors, African design, food, furniture, and independent makers.
This year's theme, The Soft Life, explores how thoughtful design can create homes that prioritise comfort, wellbeing, connection, and everyday joy. Whether you're renovating, decorating, shopping for unique pieces, or simply looking for creative inspiration, here's what you can expect on every floor.
Level -2: Property, Renovation and Home Improvement
If you're planning to buy, build, renovate, or simply improve your home, this is the perfect place to begin your Decorex journey.
One of this year's biggest additions is The Property Show by Private Property, presented in partnership with Nedbank, bringing together property experts, renovation advice, and home improvement inspiration under one roof.
Other highlights include:
- Private Property Studio with expert talks covering property, interiors, renovations, and lifestyle.
- DIY Studio, presented by Discovery Bank Home Loans, featuring practical demonstrations and expert advice.
- The Recharge Garage, created with Lexus and designer Tshepo Sealetsa, reimagining the modern garage as a stylish extension of the home.
- Street Food Market, serving a wide variety of local and international street food.
Level 0: Kitchens, Bathrooms and Great Food
Level 0 celebrates two of the hardest-working spaces in every home: the kitchen and bathroom.
Don't miss The Sacred Pause, an immersive installation by Lifestyle Ceramics, Kohler, and Cocoon Lifestyle that explores the calming relationship between architecture, water, and natural materials.
Food lovers can also enjoy:
- The Kitchen Project, showcasing beautifully designed kitchens featuring Cosentino surfaces, Franke fixtures, Hisense appliances, and Eljen Kitchens.
- @home Cooking Studio, where leading chefs demonstrate recipes and cooking techniques using the retailer's homeware collection.
- The Eiger Experience, combining premium kitchens with live cooking demonstrations.
- Kanpai Restaurant, serving an immersive Japanese dining experience inspired by Tokyo and Kyoto.
- Woolworths Grab & Go for coffee and refreshments throughout the day.
Level 2: The Best of African Design
One of the biggest draws of Decorex each year is 100% Design Africa, and in 2026 it once again takes over an entire floor.
Celebrating contemporary African creativity, this exhibition features designers, artists, studios, galleries, and makers from across the continent.
Some of the standout attractions include:
- 100% Local, showcasing South African furniture, décor, ceramics, and handcrafted design.
- 100% Iconic, celebrating Decorex Africa's Designer of the Year, LRNCE.
- Ten x Ten, presenting 100 outstanding design objects across ten categories.
- FloodLight, exploring innovative lighting design through immersive installations.
- 100% Fresh, highlighting exciting new work from emerging designers and students.
- The Collector's Room, featuring rare furniture, artworks, antiques, and collectible design pieces.
- Future Talks, with architects, designers, creatives, and industry leaders discussing the future of design.
Visitors can also stop by The Good Table or enjoy cocktails at The Social Library, where food, hospitality, and design come together.
Levels 4 & 5: Shop Local Design
If shopping is your favourite part of Decorex, Levels 4 and 5 are where you'll want to spend plenty of time.
The Capitec Design MRKT brings together independent designers and makers selling:
- Ceramics
- Home décor
- Artwork
- Fashion
- Jewellery
- Lifestyle products
- Artisan food
- Handmade gifts
It's the perfect opportunity to discover emerging South African brands while supporting local creators.
Visitors can also cool down with Paul's Homemade Ice Cream while enjoying live DJ sets throughout the weekend.
Level 5: Décor, Furniture and Interior Inspiration
The top floor showcases some of South Africa's leading furniture and décor brands, with beautifully curated room settings designed to inspire every room in the home.
Highlights include:
- The Bedroom Project, exploring the future of sleep and bedroom design.
- Luxury bedroom displays by Granny Goose and Volpes.
- Moments of Attention by Woolworths, an immersive installation focusing on texture, scent, light, and atmosphere.
- Soft Life Design Pods, where leading designers interpret this year's theme through complete interior spaces.
- The Kramerville District, bringing Johannesburg's famous design precinct indoors.
- Bodega Pop-up Wine Bar, offering wine tastings and a relaxing place to take a break.
More Than Just a Design Show
One of the things that sets Decorex apart is how seamlessly food, hospitality, and lifestyle experiences are woven throughout the exhibition.
Rather than relying on a single food court, visitors can enjoy different culinary experiences on almost every floor, from Japanese cuisine at Kanpai and cocktails at The Social Library to gourmet street food, artisan markets, wine bars, and long-table dining experiences.
VIP ticket holders can also relax in the exclusive Soft Life VIP Lounge, designed as a comfortable retreat between exploring the exhibition.
