Harties Cableway

Mini roadtrips to consider

Just outside Pretoria lies Hartbeespoort to the West and Cullinan to the East (both 40min drives) which will give you a moment of feeling like you're escaping the city confines. In Harties, as the locals call it, you can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities and quaint restaurant options. Cullinan has the Premier Diamond Mine to explore, a diversity of restaurant and curio shop options, and a strong artistic focus. Come back to Pretoria feeling all refreshed from a change of scenery.

Explore the Dinokeng area

If you feel like a quick trip close by and want to explore a different way of living, check out Adventure Addicts. They have an array of activities in the Hammanskraal area, including a cultural and shebeen tour, quad trails, paint ball and war games, elephant back safaris, microlighting, interactive gumboot dancing and drumming session, horse back riding, camel back safari (only group bookings) and game drives. Hartbeespoort Dam

Slice through town down Flower street, keep on going straight, and you will end up in Harties. A little bit more bustling than Cullinan, Harties has the big dam to wink at you for lots of water fun. Worth the 50minute drive, you will not be bored once there! Offering para-sailing, windsurfing, water and jet skiing on the dam you will get your share of sunshine enjoyment. Explore a local mountain - Magaliesberg

If you have stayed in Pretoria for longer than six months, you would have passed by (or even over) this mountain range. We can pride ourselves in having one of the world's oldest mountains on our doorstep - almost 100 times older than Everest! This mountain range stretches for 120km from Bronkhorstspruit Dam, east of Pretoria, to the Rustenburg area in the west. Visit a Diamond Mine

This quaint little town is a 40minute trip from Zambezi drive. Perfect for a quick lunch or breakfast trip to just get out of town for a bit. Or make it a day outing and browse through the little shops, go on a tour of the mines and even stay 'till evening for a show at Jan Harmsgat. Stores include home-made foods, soaps and vintage home decor. You will return home refreshed after spending some time in this little rustic town, with a sense that doing things the good old way still counts for something.
