Beerhaus Bavaria

By far one of our favourite restaurants for just about anything – from beer to bratvurst and everything in between–Beerhaus Bavaria in Pretoria East also serves up a mean hamburger. Think big patties made to perfection by hands that have seen decades of kitchen work. Yup, these burgers are handcrafted and topped with mature cheese, the most beautiful greens and a streak of bacon or three. We suggest you wash this down with one of the many craft and Bavarian beers they have on tap.

DK Burger

Next to one of SA's most famous fine-dining restaurants is where you will find DK burger – a burger joint run by, you guessed it, a fine-dining restaurant. Our favourite is the lamb burger which consists of a lamb patty, olive tapenade, rosemary aioli, and a rocket and red onion marmalade. If you're not into lamb, then check out the wagyu beef burger which is a wagyu patty (you know, the cows raised on beer and massages every day), topped with rocket, mature cheddar and caramelised onion.

Guy Fieri's Kitchen & Bar

The mayor of Flavour Town invites you to experience some of his craziest creations... but we just want to tell you about the Mac 'n Cheese burger he's cooked up at this first restaurant in southern Africa. It's a massive thing to behold: two beef patties, coleslaw (lots of it), topped with Guy's super secret mac 'n cheese recipe. Come hungry because this menu item will keep you full until next week Wednesday.

Ed's Diner

Ed’s Diner turns into a buzzing hotspot at night, with a cocktail menu and a selection of beer on tap, fine wines, premium whiskies and liqueurs that won’t disappoint... but we're here to talk about their burgers. Ed's Diner in Pretoria offers guests the opportunity to build their own burgers. We're not going into detail here but this is like a dream come true for any budding burger enthusiast. From succulent beef patties to deboned ribs, there's something for everyone.

Burger Bistro

Burger Bistro is a concept started by Corné Read and Jan-Hendrik van Staden – two guys who love burgers and had too much time on their hands. Our favourite burger on the menu changes constantly but if we really have to choose we'll go for the Italian Stallion which is a pure beef patty, melted mozzarella, marinara sauce, fresh basil, chips and comes with a complimentary Appletizer or Grapetizer.
