Renowned chef Pellie Grobler expertly crafts the ever-evolving menu, with suggested pairing options from a remarkable wine list, for each artistic meal. A passion for food, as well as an intimate understanding of what people enjoy eating and how they interact with the experience, is what drives his pursuit of culinary perfection.

Their philosophy is that the table is equally as important as the kitchen, the heart of the home (and restaurant!) and this is very evident in their unique approach to how they encourage diners to interact with the food in a fun, adventurous setting.

Food provenance is a very important factor nowadays, so it's fantastic to know that all food products at The Black Bamboo are sourced through specialist suppliers, and a large focus is placed on responsible sourcing of goods as well as supporting local business as much as possible.



Enjoy appetisers such as Green Eggs & Ham (braised pork shoulder with a 63˚C egg, spelt risotto, parsley purée, crispy prosciutto, parsley dust and truffle vinaigrette) or the Feta Panna Cotta. The Smoked Fillet is a serving of hay-smoked beef fillet with salsa verde, fermented turnip purée, roasted baby turnips, pickled golden beets, beef jus ravioli and slow cooked oats, or for something seafood try the melt-in-your-mouth spinach-wrapped Kingklip.
