The festive season is almost upon us and the restaurants are stocking up.
To get into the spirit of the "silly season" we decided to go hunting for some decadent seafood.
We visited o'Galito Woodlands, Friday 16 October 2015 for lunch and selected the freshest products available for our seafood platter, recommended by the manager.
Make sure to always ask the staff or managers what they suggest you order as they have inside information and can guide you to make the correct decision.
For starters we ordered, traditional Portuguese chicken & prawn rissoles, which left us wanting more. They are very tasty and some of the best rissoles I have had.
This dish is not on the menu but only available when in stock. Remember to ask for them.
Our main meal can only be described as a seafood feast with 600g lobster (up to 1700g available), whole fresh mussels & Mozambican tiger prawns paired with the Lanzerac Alma Mater Rosé.
The Lanzerac Alma Mater Rosé from Stellenbosch is made from Shiraz and Malbec is light, succulent, fresh and slightly off-dry. The food pairing possibilities for rosé are almost endless. Try Rose the next time you order seafood, they are more full-bodied and creamy and will enhance your pleasure.
The service at o'Galito is of the best in Pretoria with friendly, efficient waiters and agile management.
I might be biased as my favourite food is any seafood but I suggest you try this platter the next time you visit o'Galito.
