Explore Brooklyn

Brooklyn is a classy, cosmopolitan area in Pretoria East. We explored this tree-lined suburb and discovered a couple of spots that are well worth a visit whether you're looking to do some shopping, playing, escaping, eating or sleeping.

Where To Eat

Thanks to a variety of quality cafés, catching a bite almost anywhere Brooklyn is pure joy. Here are our top foodie finds in the area.

Broodhuijs is an artisanal bakery, coffee shop and European-style café all in one. Take your pick from a range of freshly baked breads used to make gourmet sarmies topped with home-made pesto, marmalade, chutney, salsa and international cheeses; a selection of freshly-filled croissants and decadent pastries; mouthwatering pizzas; house-blended and roasted coffee; craft beer or boutique wine. The tasty menu options and friendly ambience make Broodhuijs a popular place for breakfast, lunch or afternoon drinks and snacks on the terrace. Be sure to pick up a fresh multigrain, beetroot or pumpkin loaf on your way out.

Broodhuijs is open on weekdays from 07:00 to 17:00, Saturday from 08:00 to 14:00 and closed on Sunday. Broodhuijs also has a home catering service.
